MILAN (Reuters) – Real Madrid and Barcelona topped the world’s richest club followed by Manchester United, according to an annual survey by accountancy firm Deloitte released on Tuesday.
The combined revenues of the top 20 clubs grew by 26 million euros ($35.16 million) to over 3.9 billion euros in 2008-09,amid the global economic downturn.

UEFA and Coca-Cola today announced an extension of their long term sponsorship agreement during a special ceremony at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, the very same location where the draw for the qualifying competition of UEFA EURO 2012™ was held on last 7 February.
UEFA and Coca-Cola officially signed the agreement which will cover all competitions listed under the UEFA EUROTOP programme until 2017.

New Delhi (PTI)- Drinks brand Coca-Cola India and sports apparel company Reebok have signed up sponsorship deals with the Hero Honda FIH Hockey World Cup, to be held here from February 28-March 13.
Coca-Cola India will be the ‘Official Beverage Partner’, while Reebok the ‘Official Apparel Partner’ of the prestigious 12-nation hockey tournament, a release said today.
“Coca-Cola India has always believed in promoting a healthy, active lifestyle through sports and has had a long term association with various sports globally. We are very proud to announce our association with the hockey World Cup.

VANCOUVER (Reuters) – U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps has become the first ambassador for the International Olympic Committee’s Youth Olympics as it seeks to raise the profile of its inaugural event in Singapore this year.
Phelps is the most prolific Olympic gold medalist of all time after winning six gold medals at Athens in 2004 and eight in Beijing in 2008.
“I am delighted that I have been given the opportunity to become the first official ambassador of the Youth Olympic Games, and can’t wait to get working with the YOG team to promote the first event this summer,” he said in a statement on Monday.
