The Indian Premier League have sent out invitation to tender for theatrical telecast rights to Multiplex screens. This is in line with their effort to bring the IPL to the masses in India.
IPL have set the floor price of the bid at $2 million per year, with a restriction that a multiplex cannot screen a match being played in that city on the day.
The rights on offer will include league matches to be played in Seasons 2010 through to 2019 for exhibition for audiences in cinema halls, stadia, water borne vessels, buses, trains, armed services establishments, hospitals, bars, hotels, restaurants, airports, railway stations, shopping malls, offices, construction sites and oil rig.
The next IPL is will be held from March 12, 2010, whith defending champions taking on the leagues bottom team Kolkata Knight Riders in Hyderabad.
