Kenya Airways signs two year deal with Kenya Rugby


Kenya AirwaysKenya Airways  have signed a two years sponsorship deal with Kenya Rugby Football Union (KRFU)  worth $4 million (Sh31.25).

The first year of the contract (2009/2010 season) will see Kenya Airways pump in would ($2 million) Sh15m

Titus Naikuni,  CEO Kenya Airways said that the package for the national rugby team would be increased by 12 per cent for the 2010/2011 season with the whole package amounting to an estimated Sh31.25m.

African telecom company Globacom signs a five year sponsorship deal with Man Utd


man-uAFRICA- Africa’s leading telecoms operator and biggest supporter of football Globacom and English Premier League Champions Manchester United, have signed a five-year sponsorship deal.

The partnership deal, will provide a unique chance to budding West African players to have an international exposure and training facilities at the Manchester United Soccer Academy.

Both Mancherster United and Globacom have the rights of association in three African countries, Nigeria, Ghana and Benin Republic.

NBA to open new offices in Africa, India


nbaLONDON, Oct 6 (Reuters) – The NBA is opening at least five new international offices, including around three in Africa by 2012, NBA Commissioner David Stern said on Tuesday.

Speaking ahead of a pre-season game in London between the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz, Stern said the NBA was hiring staff, a year after the league laid off around 80 employees.

“We’ve made a number of hires with respect to our international offices over the past year,” Stern told a news conference, adding the league is opening offices in India and the Middle East.
