Monte-Carlo, Monaco – Hosts for the 2011 World Cross Country Championships and 2012 World Race Walking Cup were agreed during the second day of the IAAF Council Meeting in Monaco.
Council also heard progress reports from a number of future host cities, including the 2010 World Indoor Championships (Doha), the 2010 World Cross Country Championships (Bydgoszcz), the 2010 World Junior Championships (Moncton), the 2010 World Race Walking Cup (Chihuahua) and the 2011 World Championships in Athletics (Daegu).

MONTE CARLO (Reuters) – Jamaican triple Olympic and world champion Usain Bolt headlines a group of nine athletes contracted to compete in the new Diamond League circuit next year, league organisers and the IAAF announced on Saturday.
Bolt’s chief rivals, compatriot Asafa Powell and American Tyson Gay, are also under contract for the 14 meetings.
Distance runner Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia, pole vaulters Yelena Isinbayeva of Russia and Australian Steve Hooker, women’s 400 metres sprinter Sanya Richards of the United States, high jumper Blanka Vlasic of Croatia and javelin thrower Andreas Thorkildsen of Norway are the other contracted athletes.

Guangzhou- Indian Olympic Chief Suresh Kalmadi was reelected unopposed for the third consecutive term in Guangzhou, dureing the Asian Athletic Association’s 18th general body meeting.
Mr. Kalmadi was first elected in 2000 at Jakarta since then he has introduced many development projects in Asian Athletics including Asian All Star meet, Asian Indoor Championship and Asian Grand Prix series.

Monte-Carlo - After a careful review process which started over 9 months ago, the IAAF is delighted to announce that IEC in Sports (IEC) will become the new IAAF media partner for the territories of Europe and Africa for the period 2010-2013. The agreement will cover all IAAF World Athletic Series competitions.
The IAAF and IEC will immediately begin the process of selling rights in the relevant territories, with priority given to the upcoming events of 2010, starting with the World Indoor Championships in Doha, Qatar (12-14 March).

CINCINNATI- Procter & Gamble announced today a series of Team USA athlete marketing alliances that will extend through the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. This announcement comes shortly after P&G and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) announced a 17 brand marketing partnership, across five USOC sponsorship categories for the 2010 and 2012 Games.

Beijing will bid for the 2015 athletics world championships, Chinese media reported on Thursday, pitting the host of the 2008 Olympic Games with other contenders including Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro.
The city’s sports authority contacted IAAF officials in Berlin last month, and the world athletics governing body will soon come to check facilities, probably in October, Beijing sports bureau chief Sun Kanglin told the Beijing Youth Daily.
