Sachin named UNEP Goodwill Ambassador


MUMBAI – Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has been named a United Nations Environment Programme Goodwill Ambassador.

The appointment, made by UNEP Executive Director Mr. Achim Steiner in Mumbai, allows one of the world’s greatest cricketers the opportunity to use his legendary popularity to raise public awareness and harness support for environmental action in India and the world.

HDFC Standrad Life extends their sponsorship with RR


MUMBAI – HDFC Standard Life Insurance have extended their sponsorship for IPL 3 with The Indian Premier League (IPL) Team Rajasthan Royal. HDFC Standard Life Insurance  have come on as Associate Sponsors of the team.

The deal is said to be valued at just over $1 million (Rs 4.8 crores).

As part of the rights they have been given the right to give away the Most Valuable Player prize who will receive $1000 in cash and a certificate. In addition, they also plan on workshops with the younger players.

Rajasthan Royal play thier first home match on 15 March in Ahmedabad against Delhi Daredevils.

IPL ties up with Karbonn Mobiles as Official Partner Mobile Phone


MUMBAI – The Indian Premier League (IPL) today announced that Karbonn Mobiles – a company that redefines mobility with its wide range of attractively priced multimedia phones, has signed long term sponsorship deals for a host of IPL properties. As part of these sponsorships Karbonn Mobile will be the league’s ‘Official Partner Mobile Phone’ and the title sponsor of the new and exciting property Karbonn Mobiles “IPL Nights”, which will be aired as the after parties’ hosted by the IPL post the matches on MTV.

Mountain Dew signs up with Kings XI Punjab


MUMBAI – Mountain Dew a PepsiCo Indian brand has signed a deal with Kings XI Punjab as their beverage partner.

The deal is said to be valued at $1.5 million (Rs.6crores). As part of the deal, Mountain Dew have been given the exclusive pouring rights at home matches besides being the official beverage for the KXIP.

In addition, the sponsorship deal includes branding on the back of the team jersey as well as on gorund.

Nivea extend with Chennai Super Kings


MUMBAI – Nivea for Men have extend their sponsorship deal with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the up coming IPL3 which starts on 12 March.

The deal is said to be valued at $1 million (Rs4.8 crores). As part of the sponsorship deal Niva hgave been given the rights to player meet and greets, VVIP tickets, Hospitality tickets  for home games as well as matches around Chennai.

IPL to retender for two new franchises


MUMBAI -  The Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) today decided to retender the bids for two new franchises with a few changes to the original tender.

The revised ITT document will now be available on Tuesday 9 March, with the fresh bids to be opened by the IPL Governing Council on 21 March in Chennai. Bids must be submitted before 10am on 21 March.

Sigma acquire IPL mobile application rights


MUMBAI- Singapore based venture capitalist Sigma Ventures Pte. Limited is pleased to announce that they have today acquired the global mobile application rights for the Indian Premier League, on an exclusive basis.  The deal, with Global Cricket Ventures Limited, the exclusive global mobile rights holder for the IPL, is for a period of 8 years, including the 2017 IPL season.  Sigma Ventures has acquired these rights jointly with their technology partner, Chennai based DCI Mobile Studios, a division of Dot Com Infoway Limited (DCI), India.

IPL signs deal with July Systems for Mobile net

MUMBAI – In yet another path-breaking initiative, the Indian Premier League (IPL) and its licensing partner Global Cricket Ventures (GCV) today announced an agreement with vRock Mobile Communications Pvt Ltd (vRock Mobile), which has acquired the sole and exclusive worldwide SMS, MMS and IVR rights for a period of five years. vRock Mobile will have the exclusive rights to utilize CDMA, GSM, GPRS, MMS, WAP, EDGE, 3G and any other mobile or desktop technology, capable of sending or receiving SMS/MMS alerts, SMS/MMS contest/ activations and live audio commentary / IVR platform.
