The logo and slogan of UEFA EURO 2012™ were unveiled today on the occasion of a special ceremony in the city of Kyiv, the venue for the final of the competition. UEFA President Michel Platini, together with Grigoriy Surkis, President of the Ukrainian Football Union (FFU) and Grzegorz Lato, President of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) presented the logo and slogan to the public, guests and media representatives on Mykhailivska Square.

FUNCHAL, Portugal (Reuters) – Ukrainian cities Kiev, Lviv, Donetsk and Kharkiv will host matches in the 2012 European soccer championship, UEFA said on Friday, with the capital confirmed as the venue for the final. European soccer’s governing body had delayed the decision over hosting matches in all the proposed Ukrainian cities except Kiev after the slow progress of infrastructure projects.

KHARKIV, Ukraine (PRNewswire) – The second stadium for the next European Football Championship opened in Kharkiv on Saturday, December 5. The key investor in the Metalist Stadium, Oleksandr Yaroslavskiy, who is President of the Metalist FC, owner of the DCH Group and coordinator of Kharkiv’s preparations for Euro-2012, spoke at the opening ceremony to the delight of many football fans in Ukraine and abroad. Ukraine and Poland, who are hosting the Championships, now have two out of the eight stadiums required for the games in 2012, both in Ukraine.
